July 4th Rice Krispie Treats are soft and gooey with layers of red, white, and blue rice krispie treats drizzled in melted chocolate topped with festive sprinkles. Easy no bake dessert and the perfect treat for 4th of July, Memorial Day, and Labor Day.
Add 1 tablespoon butter and 2 cups mini marshmallows to a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 60 seconds, then stir. Heat additional 15 seconds if necessary until marshmallows are melted. Add ½-1 teaspoon red food coloring and stir with a buttered spatula. Add 2 cups Rice Krispies and 1 more cup mini marshmallows. Stir until completely combined. Press mixture into the Bundt pan with a buttered spatula or buttered fingers.
For the white layer, repeat the steps above in a clean bowl with no food coloring. Press the mixture on top of the red layer.
For the blue layer, repeat the steps in a clean bowl with blue food coloring. Press the mixture on top of the white layer. Let cool for 60 minutes.
With a small, thin plastic knife or spatula, loosen the rice krispies cake from the edges of the pan. Invert the bundt pan over a plate.
Melt white candy melts in the microwave for 30 seconds. Stir. Heat in 15-second increments until smooth. Add oil, if necessary, until it is thin enough to drizzle. Use a spoon to drizzle white chocolate over the rice krispies cake. Repeat with red candy melts and blue candy melts. Add sprinkles while the melted candy is still wet. Set aside to dry or place in the refrigerator until hardened.
Notes
The marshmallow cereal mixture is STICKY. Use buttered fingers and spatulas to keep it from sticking.
Adjust the food coloring until you achieve your desired hue. I used about 1 teaspoon of each color.
Don't press the cereal mixture into the pan too firmly or the rice krispie treats will be hard.
