Stir blueberries, jam, a pinch of cinnamon, and a pinch of black pepper in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir. Warm for 30-45 seconds on high in the microwave. Stir and gently mash some of the blueberries. Set aside to cool.
Stir the ricotta, honey, ⅛ teaspoon cinnamon, and a pinch of black pepper in a small bowl.
Toast the bread. Spread each piece of toast with a thick layer of ricotta. Top with the blueberry jam and a sprinkle of almonds and sea salt, if desired.
Notes
Let the blueberry jam mixture cool to thicken up a bit before spooning it onto the toast.
Frozen blueberries may also be used -- the topping just won't thicken up as much.
Optional step, whip the ricotta with a hand mixer until it's smooth and creamy.
Try toasting bread on the stovetop! Heat butter or olive oil in a pan over medium heat, add your favorite bread, and heat and flip until both sides are golden brown.
