Chocolate Hand Pies are delicious little chocolate pies filled with creamy Nutella and gooey caramel and peanut butter candy bars, topped with cinnamon sugar and a drizzle of melted chocolate. Fast and easy dessert, perfect for Valentine's Day or any time you're craving chocolate!
12-16mini chocolate bars, chopped into ½-3/4" piecesGhirardelli squares, Reese's peanut butter cups, Caramello bars, or other gooey chocolate bars
1beaten egg
flaky salt

½cupchocolate chips

Instructions
Preheat oven to 425. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats. Beat the egg with 1 tablespoon of water to make an egg wash. Set aside. Combine the cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl, set aside.
Roll out pie dough rounds onto parchment paper or lightly floured surface. Cut the dough with 2-inch cookie cutters, re-rolling and cutting the scraps. You should get about 32 cut-outs.
Place cut-outs onto prepared baking sheet. Spread 1 teaspoon Nutella onto the center of each cut-out, leaving a border. Arrange 3-4 chocolate bar pieces on top of the Nutella and sprinkle with a little sea salt, if desired. Brush egg wash onto the edges of the bottom pie crust.
Place a top crust onto each one (stretch it a little bit, if necessary) and press down around the edges. Use a fork to crimp and seal the top crust to the bottom crust. Brush the top of the hand pies with egg wash. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top of the pie crust. Cut vents into the top crust with a sharp paring knife.
Bake for 10-14 minutes or until the pie crust is golden brown. Do not overbake or the pies will be dry. Transfer the chocolate hand pies to a wire baking rack to cool for 10-15 minutes.
Melt the chocolate and oil in the microwave for 30 seconds or until smooth. Drizzle the melted chocolate on top of the pies. Serve warm.
Notes
Be careful not to fill the pies too full, or the filling will burst through the crust.
Use gooey candy bars for the filling -- you won't regret it!
Skip the candy bars and fill the chocolate hand pies with all Nutella or Nutella and chocolate chips or chopped chocolate.
Instead of drizzling with melted chocolate, serve with melted Nutella.
