Strawberry Heaven Dessert is a light and airy dessert that comes together with layers of moist angel food cake, strawberry pie filling, creamy vanilla pudding, and Cool Whip (or whipped cream). Easy no-bake strawberry angel food cake dessert for spring and summer gatherings or any special occasion.
1angel food cakebaked from a mix, store-bought, or homemade
21ouncesstrawberry pie filling
2boxesinstant vanilla pudding mix (4-serving size boxes)or French vanilla or cheesecake
2 ½cupscold milk
1cupsour cream
8ouncesCool Whip
2-3tablespoonstoasted almonds, optional
Instructions
In a large bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and about 1 cup of milk until smooth. Slowly whisk in the rest of the milk, then the sour cream, for about 2 minutes. Set aside.
Cut angel food cake into 1-inch cubes. Arrange ½ of them in an even layer in a 9 x 13 pan. Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly on top of the cake cubes.
Layer the remaining angel food cake cubes on top of the pie filling. Dollop the vanilla pudding on top of the cake and spread into an even layer. Evenly spread the Cool Whip on top. Cover and chill at least 6 hours.
Before serving, sprinkle the top with toasted almonds.
Notes
Cut the angel food cake with a serrated knife using a sawing motion to keep from crushing the cake.
Chill time is key. Let it set for at least 6 hours so the flavors can meld and the texture firms up.
Use cold milk for the pudding so it sets properly.
