🍓Ingredients

- Red fruits. Strawberries also act as a "pusher" to slide more delicate items onto the skewer and help hold everything in place. Cut very large strawberries into smaller pieces.
Also, try raspberries, cherries, or seedless watermelon— you can even use a star cookie cutter to cut watermelon into a star shape. - Blue fruits. Blackberries and big, plump blueberries large enough to skewer. Concord grapes are another great option.
- Cake cubes. I couldn't resist the pretty red and white swirl of Little Debbie Strawberry Shortcake rolls. You can also use marshmallows, pound cake, angel food cake, mini muffins, or even rice krispie treats.
- White chocolate. Use good quality white chocolate chips so they'll melt and drizzle smoothly.
🥣How to Make 4th of July Fruit Kabobs
Step 1: Thread alternating layers of red fruits, white cake, and blue fruits onto wooden skewers. Place the fruit skewers on a large plate or cookie sheet lined with parchment or waxed paper.
Step 2: Melt white chocolate and oil in the microwave until smooth. Use a spoon to drizzle the chocolate over the fruit kabobs. Place in the fridge for a few minutes for the chocolate to harden.
Enjoy or store in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Delicious with Strawberry Marshmallow Fluff fruit dip or Sugar Cookie Dip.
👉Top Tip: Briefly freeze the strawberry shortcake rolls to make cutting them into clean slices much easier.
☑️Tips
- The cake slices are delicate. Use the strawberries to push the slices of cake onto the skewers.
- When cutting the cake rolls, wipe the blade between slices as necessary for the cleanest cuts.
- Ending the kabob with a strawberry helps anchor the other items onto the skewer.
🎁Storage
Store leftover Fourth of July fruit kabobs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.

📖 Recipe
Red White and Blue Fruit Kabobs
Equipment
- 12 bamboo skewers
Ingredients
- 1 box Little Debbie Strawberry Shortcake rolls or cubes of pound cake or angel food cake
- 36 strawberries
- 24 large blueberries
- 24 blackberries
- ¼ cup white chocolate chips
- ¼ teaspoon oil coconut oil, shortening, or canola oil
Instructions
- Place the strawberry shortcake rolls in the freezer while you wash and prep the berries. Slice each strawberry shortcake roll into 6 slices.
- Thread each skewer with alternating layers of cake roll, red fruit, and blue fruit. I did 2 layers each of strawberry shortcake roll, a strawberry, a blackberry, and a blueberry, one more cake roll, and one more strawberry. Arrange fruit kabobs on a large plate or baking sheet covered with wax paper or parchment paper.
- Melt white chocolate and oil in microwave for 30 seconds, and stir. Continue to heat in 15-second intervals until melted and creamy. Add a tiny bit more oil as needed to reach drizzling consistency. Use a spoon to drizzle the white chocolate over the fruit kabobs. Refrigerate to allow the chocolate to harden.
- Serve immediately or store covered in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Best enjoyed the same day.
