Question for ya. Do you think sugar cookie dip is a dip with sugar cookies in it or a dip for sugar cookies?
Whatever you guessed, you're right! This creamy sugar cookie cheesecake dip is a sweet dessert dip loaded with real sugar cookies AND a delicious dip for sugar cookies -- or fruit, or whatever else you want to dip in it.
It's sweet, creamy, and slightly buttery -- everything we love about sugar cookie dough -- and whips up in minutes for a fast and easy dessert.
So far, I've already made this sugar cookie dip recipe with Lofthouse cookies (those soft frosted sugar cookies from the grocery store) Nilla Wafers, and Golden Oreos. And, come Christmas time, you better believe I'm throwing in some of my grandma's sugar cookies and topping it off with red and green Christmas sprinkles.

🍪Ingredients You'll Need
Please see the recipe card at the bottom of the post for the full list of ingredients.
- Cream cheese. Let the cream cheese sit at room temperature until softened so it will blend well into a smooth and creamy dip.
- Butter. Because sugar cookie dough tastes like ... BUTTER!
- Crumbled sugar cookies. Use any kind of sugar or vanilla cookie like Lofthouse frosted cookies, Nilla Wafers, Golden Oreos, or your favorite sugar cookies. If you use frosted cookies, you can leave the frosting on or scrape it off.
- Almond extract. A little bit goes a long way, just ¼ teaspoon is enough to add a little background flavor.
- Cool Whip. I use Cool Whip or Truwhip. I haven't tried it with whipped cream, but I would think the cream cheese and powdered sugar would stabilize it so it doesn't get weepy.
✨Make It Your Own
- Cookies. Try gingerbread cookies for a Christmas cookie dip, or browned butter peanut butter cookies or Nutter Butters for a yummy peanut butter cookie dip.
- Toppings & mix-ins. Stir in or top the sugar cookie dip with any color of sprinkles to go with the holiday or occasion. Or try toasted coconut, chopped nuts, chocolate chips, crushed cookies or pretzels, candies, or fruit.
🥣How to Make Sugar Cookie Dip
Step 1: Whip cream cheese and butter with a stand or hand mixer until creamy. Mix in powdered sugar and extracts, then the crumbled cookies. Fold in Cool Whip.
Step 2: Transfer to a serving bowl and sprinkle jimmies or more crushed cookies on top of the dip. Serve with your favorite fruit, cookies, and other dippers.
👉Top Tip
Stir in the Cool Whip instead of mixing it with an electric mixer. Overmixing whipped topping can make it watery.
☑️Tips
- Sugar cookie dip gets pretty firm when chilled. It will soften after sitting out for a few minutes.
- For sprinkles that won't bleed, use jimmies -- the long, tube-shaped ones. I like Betty Crocker's.
🎁Storage
Store leftover cookie dip in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
